Stuffed Baked Apples with Balsamic Glaze

The Apples have been so good this season and I love to try different recipes for the apples. We have
had stuffed  apples many times, but the glaze certainly sets this recipe apart from the others and is a perfect winter time treat.  I loved serving the dessert on my Winter Holly China, giving the Apples a very special touch, for our recent sweetheart dinner party.

I like to use my Winter Holly China through the winter months, I always look forward to taking it out of the china cabinet for all the festive dinners until well after Valentines Day. One of the desserts that I have really enjoyed serving this season is the Stuffed Baked Apples with Balsamic Glaze.

Stuffed Baked Apples with Balsamic Glaze

Ingredients
4 Gala Apples
1 cup raw oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
dash salt
6 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
For The Glaze
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2 1/2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup honey
Directions
Wash and core the apples
Mix the Oatmeal, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
Blend the butter into the dry mix until it has little butter beads.
Add the cranberries and pecans, mix well.
Stuff each of the apples with the dry mix, really stuff it until the stuffing is very tight and running over.
Place the stuffed apples into a baking dish and pour 1 cup of water on the bottom of the dish.
Cover the baking dish and bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 40 minutes, until the apples are tender.
While the apples are baking mix the glaze.
In a small sauce pan mix the apple cider vinegar, balsamic vinegar and honey, warm the mix very slow and simmer until the apples come out of the oven. The mixture will reduce some.
Very carefully remove the apples to a serving dish and drizzle the glaze over the apples.
Enjoy!
