We haven't done much cooking the past couple of weeks, because we have been so busy exploring! Things are finally opening up in Deutschland! Memorial Day weekend we enjoyed a fun day at Europa Park, an amusement park in Rust, Germany. Then we got treated to another 4-day weekend, and decided to check out Koblenz! We have been soaking up the amazing culture, history, and nice sunny weather.

Blogger Luncheon

One of the wonderful rewards about blogging are the people that we meet and form relationships with. Sometime ago I met Kitty from  Kitty's Kozy Kitchen at Yvonne's Stone Gable. Kitty and I began to chat back and forth and I looked forward to our weekly visits. One day I received an email from her telling me that she and her very good friend Pat from  Pattycakes In The Kitchen were  talking  about different bloggers they wanted to meet and I was one of the bloggers they wanted to meet. I was so honored and thrilled of course that they wanted to meet me and the feeling was most certainly mutual. After several emails back and forth we made a luncheon date and I could hardly wait for the date to arrive. My sweet Husband was dropping me off to have lunch with Kitty and Patsy then after lunch we were going to visit with family and friends in a near by community, it was a Day Trip. Day Trips: First Monday Trade Days

One of the really fun places that we love to go in the fall of the year is First Monday Trade Days in Canton, TX. Known as "First Monday" it is the largest continually operating outdoor Flea Market in the USA. Established in 1850 it is also considered one of the oldest Flea Markets in the USA. On any given First Monday of the month about 6000 vendors gather on hundreds of acres that make up the First Monday Flea Market. Upon arrival, which needs to be very early in the morning in order to find a parking space, the day begins. On this day we arrived around 8:30 a.m. and this was what the parking field looked like already. Wear your very best walking shoes and be prepared to walk, and walk, and walk. We were parked at the bottom of the hill and it was a long way to the top, but as you can see it was a beautiful fall day in Texas. There is a certain excitement that builds as we approach the gate. Our goal for today is to find an antique fireplace mantel and of cou...

Day Trip: Victorian Lady Tea Room

About 14 years ago my friend Vicki and I were so excited as we heard about a new Tea Room that would  be opening in near by Mabank,Texas. Mabank is located about a 1 hour drive southeast of Dallas and about a 12 mile drive from our little community.    Little did we know about the wonderful times that awaited us at the new Victorian Lady Tea Room. From Left to Right Tia the Chef, Donna the Hostess, Janice the Owner, Mgr. Janice , the Owner and Manager says, when  she opened the Tea Room her goal  was to have the Tea Room be a part of her ministry for the community, and she has certainly met that goal and is still doing so today. She has provided a serene setting with a warm and welcoming atmosphere feeding both the body and the soul. Often times through the years she has offered us a scripture to help get through the day or a special prayer time to give us strength for the journey ahead. Tia the Chef, has been with the Tea Room from the beginning. Tia's foo...
