Old Fashioned Baked Lasagna

It is my pleasure to share one of our favorites here at the cottage. This recipe was originally printed in my cookbook, Miz Helen's Kitchen Table.

Italian Noodle Bake

This is a delicious retro recipe that I made for my kids when they were in high school. It was always a great recipe to go to when they would bring 3/4 of the football team home for dinner. It has great Italian flavor and is a real easy recipe to make even at the last minute. This is a great go to recipe still to this day!

Slow Cooker Creamy Italian Chicken

Some days are so busy that it is really nice to just load up the slow cooker in the morning and go on with the day. Today that is what I am doing, this Creamy Italian Chicken will cook slowly all day and will make a great dinner sauce for my pasta. This is a very simple recipe that takes just a few ingredients and in the pot for slow cooking. I love having  a go to recipe like this, just for days like today!

Slow Cooker Italian Beef Sandwich

This Slow Cooker Italian Beef Sandwich has been a very popular recipe at some of our game day gatherings. It is a very easy recipe to put together and it is so tender and juicy that it just pulls apart. We like to serve it on a sub-roll with a nice layer of cheese on the bottom, the hot beef and juice melt the cheese. We top it off with some pepperoncini and roasted red peppers. It is a delicious sandwich!

Italian Vegetable and Sausage Orzo Skillet

When I start looking for a creamy Italian skillet meal that is so easy to put together this is a great go to recipe. This is a recipe that really delivers the Italian flavor. We just add some sausage, spinach, and even some oven-dried tomatoes with some Italian seasons. Next we will stir in some orzo, Parmesan Cheese and cream. All of this goodness goes into one skillet and is on the table in no time. Oh my goodness, creamy, fresh and it is so delicious!

Pizza Roll Appetizer

These Pizza Roll Appetizer's are so easy to put together and really delicious. We have made these little appetizers several times lately and are just loving them, we know that if we are having folks over we will need to double the recipe. This is one of those recipes that you can really make your own and change it up every time you make it. We have a favorite combination of Italian meat, and cheese that we will be sharing with you today.

Pizza Casserole

This Pizza Casserole has seven layers of Italian flavor. This casserole is great to serve on a big game day or a Sunday Fun Day. I have taken this casserole to parties and served it to family, everybody loves this casserole. One of the things I love about the casserole is that it freezes well up to three months. I usually put it into serving portions and freeze for individual meals, they are a perfect size for the lunch bag gang. This casserole is a great go-to recipe for a crowd.

Butternut Spaghetti Sauce

We have several family members and friends that are vegetarian, and when they are going to be here for dinner I like to make something real special for them.  This Butternut Spaghetti Sauce is a recipe that I developed just for them and they all love it. We grow squash, tomatoes and onions in our garden along with many herbs from our Herb Garden, this is truly a Garden to Table dish.  I recently made it for the Youth Group Spaghetti Supper for their Veggie Sauce, there was none left.  I sure hope that you enjoy the sauce.   Butternut Spaghetti Sauce Butternut Spaghetti Sauce Miz Helen's Kitchen 6 cups Butternut Squash, 1 inch cubes, roasted 2 cups Zucchini, large chop 1 cup Onion, large chop 4 garlic cloves, chopped 3 cups  mushrooms, cut in half 4 cups tomatoes, peeled, diced 3 cups tomato sauce 2 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoon pepper 1 tablespoon oregano 1 tablespoon parsley 1 tablespoon basil 1 teaspoon anise seed 2 ta...

Homemade Pasta Sauce

We have been assigned Homemade Spaghetti Sauce this month in the Crazy Cooking Challenge . I have made my own sauce for years and have not had the need to look for a different recipe until now. I wanted something that would be easy and family friendly, because when we made Spaghetti it is usually for a crowd. I was just beginning my search when this recipe came to me on my Full Plate Thursday Linky Party. It is the perfect recipe that can be made a head of time and frozen, or you can add any kind of meat or just make it meatless. Christy at  Raising Knights (Link) brought this recipe to my attention and we just love it and hope you will to. Christy is a wife of a Police Officer, a Mom that home schools five boys. I raised 3 boys so I know that you need a hearty recipe to get those boys though the day. Christy has a great blog with wonderful food, so I sure hope that you will stop by and say hello, and be sure and tell her Hi from Miz Helen.  Homemade Pasta Sauce over Spaghe...
