My fall wreath is on the door and all the fall decor has been up in place, we are declaring official FALL here at the cottage. I have labeled all my home canned foods from the spring and summer harvest and put them on my inventory sheet.  I keep an inventory sheet so I will know exactly what I have to choose from when I start to make my meal plan. Spring has arrived and we are so excited! We have been having really good spring rains for the first time in years and our lake is full, which is going to make a lot of people happy. We will be having some house guest this week for spring break so I took special request for meals, we are going to have so much fun with this meal plan. Everyone got to vote on their favorite for Sunday, it was between Chicken Spaghetti and Chili Dogs, just wait and see what it was.

Happy December! December is one of my favorite months of the whole year. I get so excited about the festive foods, decorating and the joy of the season. We have just got back from our travels and the cottage is a buzz trying to get caught up from our wonderful trip. December is here and just seems like yesterday we were shelling fresh black eyed peas fresh from the garden.  We spent most of this week decorating the cottage and getting it all decked out for Christmas.  I made the most delicious Christmas Cookies yesterday for us to have with our Spiced Tea so come on in the kitchen and we will have some hot tea and a cookie.  There is so much going on this time of the year I am trying to keep my menus real easy, so lets see what's cooking. We are so excited, we finally have all of our row crops planted in our garden. We are so thankful that we have had plentiful rains this spring, but it delayed some of our planting. We have had so much fun just playing in the dirt, but now it's time for a little break so come back to The Garden Gate Patio and we will take a look at the garden and have a nice refreshing iced tea with these nice  hot blueberry muffins I just made.
