Whats For Dinner Next Week 11-16-14

It has been unusually cold here with temperatures dipping in the low 20's. We are not used to these low temperatures this early in the season so we have been very busy getting our plants in the barn and under the heat lamps and covering our other vegetation to try and protect the tender greens from the early freeze.  When we have weather like this I think hot chocolate, soup and comfort food so that is what I am putting on the menu for next week. Caramel Pumpkin Skillet Pie

I was so excited when I took my first bite of this rich Caramel Pumpkin Skillet Pie, it tasted every bit as good as I thought it would. This recipe has been on my recipes to develop board for several months and the day finally came to write down a recipe and make the pie. This pie has the traditional flavors of an old fashioned pumpkin pie and is up over the top with the caramel bits in every slice. Baked and served in an iron skillet makes this pie a winner at every event. My taster's (husband and friend) loved this new creation and I sure hope you do to. This pie will be perfect for the holiday events. Caramel Pumpkin Skillet Pie Caramel Pumpkin Skillet Pie Miz Helen's Kitchen Ingredients 9 inch iron skillet or 9 inch pie pan 1 unbaked 9 inch pie crust 3/4 cup sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ginger 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 2 large eggs, beaten 1 15 ounce can of pure pumpkin  1 12 ounce can evaporated milk 1/2 cup...

Turkey Pot Pie

This is going to be a great Pot Pie to use up some of that left over Turkey that we will be having after the big feast. It will also be a great Pot Pie to use with left over chicken. This is a easy pie to put together and the taste is fabulous, thick and rich with the wonderful flavors of fall. The pie filling would be great for mini pies or just over hot biscuits. We will be making this pie over and over, sure hope you enjoy the Turkey Pot Pie as much as we did.
