We are so blessed to have these talented bloggers as a part of our community. Folks are getting real busy getting ready for the upcoming holidays, I love the energy of this season. Full Plate Thursday Background Story
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".

  2. Thank you for featuring my Gram's Sour Cream Spice Cake with Praline Frosting! It was my very favorite cake as a child and since my birthday is Oct. 21, I had my Gram make it every year for me ~ now it's part of my Thanksgiving dessert table (along with my Thanksgiving Pumpkin Roll Buche {posted} which came about when my grandkids loved my Christmas buches so much, that I transformed my Thanksgiving pumpkin roll into one ~ they call it "bark cake"!) The Carrot Gingerbread mold was one of my favorite Thanksgiving sides in the 50s (before carrot cake was "a thing" ~ its a cross between carrot cake & gingerbread).
