Where The Greatest Cooks On The Planet Gather

Hello everyone and Happy Spring! I have been enjoying the fresh simplicity of Spring Greens in Salads and getting back to lots of veggies on the plate. I am definitely a seasonal cook and I know that many of you are as well. I noticed at the party last week, that although we are still experiencing cold weather in most of the country, the spring dishes are starting to show up on our tables. I am sharing Mustard Greens and Corn Skillet with a Bacon Vinaigrette with all of you today and sure hope you enjoy it. Now lets get this party started I can't wait to see what you have brought to share with us today!

Background Story For Full Plate Thursday
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".

  13. Hi Miz Helen -- I've brought a plateful of gluten-free crepes to the table, and I've made them low carb and refined sugar-free, too. They are so versatile -- they can be topped with fruit or syrup for a traditional breakfast or brunch, or they can be filled with tuna salad or with chopped bacon, lettuce and tomato, to name a few ideas.
Thanks for the party, and have a great week!

  28. Hi! I'm so sorry I couldn't join the party this week. I'm in the middle of a major MS flare-up so being in the kitchen isn't an option. Hopefully this will pass soon and I'll be able to get back to it and join the party next week. Thank you for hosting!
