Whats For Dinner Next Week,11-1-20

Here we are in November, my goodness the time has gone somewhere really fast. I love planning meal plans this time of the year when we have so many traditional foods and meals that we look forward to. We will miss the fall festivals this year and the excitement of the season. We will remember that this is the month of gratitude and to be thankful for all we have been given and we are. My husband and I are so grateful that he recovered from the Covid 19 Virus without complications and that we have been given the wonderful life we have today. I am grateful for each of you that come to the cottage each week to share meal plans with us.

Full Plate Thursday, 508

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday and our Top Ten Features week! We have our fall decorations out everywhere inside and out, but we are not expecting little ghost and goblins this year because of the virus. Most of our churches are not even doing the usual trunk or treat. We have lots of treats for all of you today and can't wait to see what special treats all of you will be bringing to share with us today. Thanks so much for coming to the party today, you 'al are the greatest!

Pumpkin Waffles

Our family loves to get in the kitchen on weekends and make pancakes or waffles. My husband is a great pancake and waffles master chef and is in the kitchen having fun with me today. Our Pumpkin Waffles recipe is just delicious and we love to top them off with blueberries and syrup. Sometimes we will add some bacon or sausage on the side and what a meal, it is amazing! Our recipe is filled with just the right amount of spice with a wonderful pumpkin flavor.

Crumble Top Sweet Potato Bread

Our Crumble Top Sweet Potato Bread is one of our favorite ways to use the sweet potatoes that come out of our garden. We are having a big sweet potato harvest this year so I have been making this awesome recipe and even freezing extra loaves to have on hand. This bread has a combination of great spices that compliment the sweet potatoes, then we topped the bread with nutty crumble topping. This is a great bread for brunch, dessert or a special treat, and we make a great gift!

Whats For Dinner Next Week,10-25-20

We are going to enjoy some great fall meals this coming week, makes me hungry to think about all the recipes.  We are so excited here at the cottage, the construction on the floors were finished today, my kitchen will soon be back to normal again and I love the new floors. We are starting to see pumpkins and sweet potatoes on every corner with the farmers bringing their harvest into the village to sale. Fall is wonderful here with the most delicious food and beautiful colors.

Full Plate Thursday, 507

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday, we are so excited to see all of you at the party today. Last week we had so many wonderful post, we truly do have some of the best cooks on the planet that come to this party. We are having a true Texas fall, last week we enjoyed a little fire in the patio fireplace to keep us cozy and this week we are looking for a fan because summer has returned. I can't wait to see what you will be bringing to share with us today, it's going to be a great party!

Roasted Spicy Sweet Potatoes

We love sweet potatoes here at the cottage and our Roasted Spicy Sweet Potatoes are a favorite. We live in a rural area that produces a lot of sweet potatoes and during harvest time they are plentiful, fresh and delicious. We grow sweet potatoes here in our vegetable garden and these potatoes came right out of the garden. They are seasoned with a delicious spice mix and then roasted, until tender on the inside and just roasted on the outside. These sweet potatoes will be a great side dish for any meal and I have even used these potatoes in a soup and a casserole. I like to make a pan of this recipe and freeze them for stews, soups, and casseroles, this is a very versatile recipe.

Slow Cooker Spicy Orange Pork Loin

Slow Cooker Spicy Orange Pork Loin has the best flavor and is so moist and melts in your mouth. This is the best recipe for pork loin that I have had in a very long time. The seasons for this recipe is a spicy combination of sweet heat and one that we just love here at the cottage. As the pork loin slowly cooks it produces a wonderful sauce that is used to cover the pork loin right before serving. This will be a very special pork loin to serve for any special occasion or a casual get together for friends and family.

Whats For Dinner Next Week, 10-18-20

Good Morning everyone, I was going to sit on the screen porch to make this meal plan, but I am staying in this morning it is a little more than sweater weather. Fall has truly arrived and I am excited about a fun week here at the cottage.

Full Plate Thursday,506

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday on a crisp fall day. Our table will be full of wonderful warm and cozy food for a great get together with friends. We have some amazing features this week from some very talented bloggers that I am sure you will want to stop by and visit with. We are starting to rake leaves, and look for a sweater in our 46 degree temperature. I invite you to come out on the stone patio today where we have the fire going in the fireplace, it will be real cozy. I am looking forward to seeing you today and can't wait to taste what you are sharing. Thanks so much for coming to the party, you are the greatest!

Slow Cooker Chicken & Noodles

Slow Cooker Chicken & Noodles is an old fashioned recipe for chicken & noodles that we have placed in the Slow Cooker as a matter of convenience. This recipe is pure comfort and will make any day a little brighter. Recently when my husband was sick with the virus, this is one of the recipes that he enjoyed the most, it is so easy on the tummy and really warms the soul. This is such a simple recipe to put together with a great combination of spices. If you should have any left over, it can be frozen for up to 3 months. We serve it with a simple salad and it is a wonderful meal.

Whats For Dinner Next Week, 10-11-20

Our meal plan this week is full of wonderful fall recipes, one of my favorite recipes for Slow Cooker Chicken and Cornbread Dressing is on the menu. We are having such a beautiful fall, the weather has been perfect for being outdoors and enjoying nature. We are working on getting the garden ready for winter and some of the beds cultivated for plantings. I have a trip to the apple orchard planned so I will be having some awesome apple recipes on the meal plan this week.

Full Plate Thursday,505

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday, come on back to the garden patio, we are carving up some fun pumpkins today. Have you started to carve pumpkins yet, it is sure that time of the fall. We are beginning to see pumpkins and goblins everywhere, I just love to watch the little ones get so excited about picking our their very own pumpkin to carve or (help carve). We have some great features today from last weeks party, be sure and take a look at them, these are great blogs! I am excited to see what you will be sharing with us today, find your spot at the table and lets get started!

Apple Nut Cake

Apple Nut Cake is one of those "go to" recipes for me here at the cottage. It is a delicious dessert cake that can fit in with any occasion. The spicy apples bring an unexpected flavor to the cake and helps to make it a family favorite. I like to keep this recipe pantry ready as it is one of those recipes that can be made at the last minute and comes out like you have been working on it all day.

Whats For Dinner Next Week, 10-4-20

We are so excited to welcome October and the wonderful festival and fall foods of the season. Although the fall festivals will be a little different this year some are still having them while staying within the health guidelines of our county and state. I am planning a couple of our very favorite fall recipes for this weeks meal plan. I just got back from taking my inventory of food I have in the storage bins in the barn. We have very little production in the garden this time of the year. I am hopinig that I have enough on hand that I don't have to go to the village to the market this week.
