Full Plate Thursday, 495

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday and our Top Ten Features Week! I am so excited to see you today and can't believe that we have come to the last week in July already. After 18 days of quarantine I have finally escaped the confines of my home. My husband is doing well and beginning to gain more strength and I am so grateful that I never did get the virus, never had a temperature, never had not one single symptom. God has been so good to protect me and many thanks to all of you for the many positive thoughts and prayers, I shall be forever grateful! Now to try and get caught up on my blog and other pressing issues that one gets behind on when sickness comes into our home. I hope ya'll will forgive me I have tried to visit most of you but can't seem to find the time to visit as many as I would like. I couldn't even find time to make an extra post this week, but this is a very important post for all of us! I can't wait to see what you will be bringing to the party today a

Poached Eggs

My husband was recently confined with Covid 19 Virus, and he was very sick. One of the breakfast that he wanted the most was poached eggs, this was his favorite breakfast, he said it always made him feel better. This is what his plate looked like every morning. Canadian Bacon poached eggs, a little pad of butter on yes, that is what you see, his requested "white bread", with a large cup of Orange Juice. When someone is as sick as he was you just give them whatever they will eat. Commonly served on English Muffins, I just happened not to have those while in quarentine, but we sure had plenty of his favorite "white bread". We have stopped a long time ago on selling him on the benifits of whole wheat bread.

Whats For Dinner Next Week,7-26-20

I am back on the screen porch today, enjoying  a beautiful summer day. My husband is doing well with his recovery from Covid 19 and I am looking at a summertime meal plan, it is good to get back to whatever we consider normal these days. Our garden has flourished this year and we still have some amazing vegetables to enjoy. I am looking forward to using some of them in this weeks meal plan.

Hello, we are so happy to see you here at Full Plate Thursday!  This is a very special party today, it's my birthday, and we are celebrating  Miz Helen's Country Cottage 10th Year Anniversary  this week!  It is very hot outside so we are looking for a cool spot on the screen porch and under the trees. Just to sit in the cool and sip some ice cold lemonade or sweet tea. Just come on back to the garden area and find a cool spot. We have some great features from last weeks party that I am happy to share with you today and hope you will really enjoy! I am excited to see what you will be sharing with us at todays party, I always look forward to your visits.

10 Year Anniversary, The Journey Continues!

It was 10 years ago this week when I sat at the computer and pushed the publish button to put out that very first post on Miz Helen's Country Cottage.

Three Bean Pasta Salad

Our Three Bean Pasta Salad will be the perfect side for any meal or will stand alone for a great lucheon dish. The recipe has some great fresh garden vegetables along with some handy canned products that allow you to have this dish on the table in a very short time. I just love the flavor combination for this salad and the dressing is a real star of the recipe. This is a great go to salad that works for us everytime.

Whats For Dinner Next Week,7-19-20

Meal plans right now are a little different for us at the cottage since my husband is recovering from Covid 19. I had asked him if he would like to pick out some of the meal plans that I would be making for him next week, so this is what he did. I think it helped him to get his mind off of his recovery for just a bit. Some of the time he has had no taste, I think it is just what looks good to him. So together we have put together some meal plans that look to be very tasty and of course some comfort food recipes.

Full Plate Thursday,493

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday where the greatest bloggers gather every Thursday! Our whole life here at the cottage changed in a moment, my husband has tested positive for Covid 19. Thankfully he is able to be here at home where we can take care of and spoil him. He is on his 6th day and has continued to make improvement everyday, we are praying for his complete recovery. So far I have no fever and no symptoms, thankfully. I have been very careful to follow all the protacal to protect myself. We have great features from last week that I hope you will visit.  I sure am glad that you could come to the party today and as always I can't wait to see what you will be sharing with us today!

Green Chili Chicken Burgers With Green Chili Sauce

We really enjoy the addition of Green Chilis in any Tex-Mex recipe, they just have such a special flavor. Our Green Chili Chicken Burgers are very flavorful with a touch of fresh cilantro and other great spices. The Green Chili Sauce sets this burger apart from others. This is one of my husbands favorite Chicken Burgers, so I am going to spoil him a little bit today and make it very special just for him! My husband tested positive for Covid 19, 3 days ago, he is at home and doing very well. We are very grateful that he is able to stay at home so we can take really good care of him and spoil him a little.

Whats For Dinner Next Week, 7-12-20

I had started this meal plan post earlier in the week and now I am hoping to get it finished on time to share with all of you.  As I sit here in my office it is very quiet now and it reminds me of doing work after the kids were in bed when they were still home. My husband is very ill, he has been diagnosed with Covid 19 , so our life will be a little different now for a bit, until he is healed and feeling good again. He is still at home and we are grateful for that, I am trying to protect my self as best I can and still be his caretaker. He has a journey ahead but he is a strong man and we know that he will overcome the virus. We will sure appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers as we take this journey.

Full Plate Thursday,492

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday! We had a very quiet but fun 4th of July here at the cottage and sure hope your holiday was good.  As I am writting we are having a nice little summer rain which is fantastic for the yard and gardens. So much good food coming from our gardens right now, tis the season. We sure have some great features from last week and I know that you will want to visit them and say hi! I can't wait to see what you will be bringing to the party today, we always look forward to the party and seeing all of you, thanks so much for coming today!

Mid-Summer's Garden

I love my Garden Gate which is an old fashioned screen door painted in bright colors giving the garden just a bit of whimsey. We have have some really good rains this year so our vegetable garden is looking really pretty right now and we are sure enjoying some of the bounty of the harvest. I thought you might enjoy spending some time in the garden with me today so please join me for a little garden tour of our Mid-Summer's Garden.

Coca-Cola Sheet Cake With Coca-Cola Frosting

I find it very difficult to have just one slice of this cake, it truly is that good! This recipe has been around our family and friends for years and still comes up as one of our all time favorites. The balance of sweetness with the cocoa and the blend of spice with the Coca -Cola, what a great recipe. This is a recipe that will serve a large crowd or a very hungry family. I can't tell you how many times this cake has gone to pot-luck suppers, picnics or gatherings with friends and family. You can't go wrong with this old stand by!

Whats For Dinner Next Week,7-5-20

Welcome To July and Happy 4th! The lake is very quiet for the 4th of July this year with no parade's and no large gatherings in the community. We are still going to enjoy some great food and looking forward to planning this meal plan to include some awesome recipes from the garden this time of the year. The garden really has some beautiful produce right now so you will see what I will be using in some of our recipes.  Hope you are enjoying this time of celebration in our country.
