Whats For Dinner Next Week,3-1-20

Oh my goodness, here we are about to move into March! I love the food of March, we start to get into some of the awesome fresh vegetables from the winter gardens. We use a lot of cabbage during this month, it is so fresh and delicious, and some other root vegetables to enhance our March recipes. We have had early rains so our grounds are getting green earlier that usual, making me think that we need to get started on spring planting, and we will be doing that very soon. It is always so exciting to get back in the garden and continue to bring my family and all of you our very special garden to table meal plans and recipes!

Full Plate Thursday,473

Welcome to our Top Ten Full Plate Thursday,473! The last week of the month we always feature our Top Ten Views from last weeks party and you sure picked some great post for the features this week. We are having company this week here at the cottage so we are all a buzz, cleaning and cooking looking forward to some down time with our guest. I can't wait to see what you will be sharing with us today, it is going to be a great party and I am so happy that you are here!

Veggie Burger Soup

Our Veggie Burger Soup is one of those comfort soups that will make you feel oh so good after a long days work. It is a light but hearty soup, it is easy to put together and the flavor really delivers. We are serving it with a scoop of rice in the center of the bowl as the rice slowly soaks up some of the soup broth, it is really delicious!

Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies

Our Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cranberry Cookies will bring back memories of Grandma's Cookie Jar and afterschool treats with the kids, that is only some of the memories these cookies bring back for me. This cookie recipe is a chewy cookie with the flavors of the oats and cranberry combination. Cookie making can be a fun family activity with the reward just a few minutes away, and they are out of the oven, on a cooling rack and ready to eat.

Whats For Dinner Next Week,2-23-20

Our meal plans this week are going to say Madri Gras and Cajun giving a big nod to our Cajun friends and family members. It is that time of the year again and I can't believe that we are going into the last week of February already. We are busy at the cottage this week getting ready for some family to come for a short visit. We are really looking forward to their visit so we are making some special meal plans just for them! I sure look forward to sharing our family meal plans with all of you every week and hope that we will inspire you to get busy and make some meal plans for your family.

Full Plate Thursday,472

Welcome to Full Plate Thursday we are so excited to see you today. I sure hope that each of you were able to soak up lots of love on Valentines Day last week, we sure have some great features from our Valentine party. We are having another rain soaked week here and the lake lovers are very excited to get the lake full for spring. There are little signs that spring will be coming soon, I have some little tulips peaking their heads up through the ground. Thanks so much for coming to the party today, it is always good to see you here!

Cajun Cornbread

Cajun Cornbread has a blend of Cajun seasons blended with some stone ground corn meal, this makes a slice of cornbread you wont forget. We love our cornbread here at the cottage and this cornbread recipe is a spicy blend that will kick up any meal. I am often ask to bring my Cajun Cornbread to a covered dish event, one skillet full doesn't last very long.

Slow Cooker Sausage and Shrimp Jambalaya

Sausage and Shrimp Jambalaya is a regional favorite here in east Texas. We are only about 2 hours from Louisiana so we have some cajun overtones in some of our favorites and this recipe is surely one of them. A very good friend of ours recently brought us some beautiful gulf shrimp from her visit to the gulf. We decided that we would use them in our favorite Sausage and Shrimp Jambalaya recipe and I am so happy to share it with you today.

Whats For Dinner Next Week,2-16-20

Lets get this meal plan started, we have had such a great week. We had a "just the two of us" very special Valentine evening, it was great, thanks to my loving husband! It has been very cold and rainy, we have had 6.5 inches of rain here at the cottage, it is great for the lake, but the crawfish are crawling up out of my yard. I will have to make some crawfish pie. Looking forward to a great meal plan for next week!

Full Plate Thursday,471

Happy Valentine Everyone! Welcome to Full Plate Thursday and Valentine Week! We have activities going on all week that are all about Valentine's Day. I really enjoy all the food for this season, lots of sweets and chocolate, oh my! We have some great features today from some very talented bloggers and I sure hope you will take the time to stop by and say hello to them. Thanks so much for coming to the party today and I really can't wait to see what you are sharing today!

Basic Tex-Mex Taco Bowls

BasicTex-Mex Taco Bowls are a very easy and fast way to make a delicious lunch or dinner. You can choose the toppings of your choice, sour cream, salsa, pico de gallo, you can add beans, corn and other vegetables. This is a basic bowl that most kids will love, or at least my kids love this basic bowl. The Taco meat is loaded with Tex Mex flavors, that are a staple here at the cottage.

Italian Stuffed Peppers

This recipe for Italian Stuffed Peppers started with the beautiful colors of the peppers that I found at the market recently. Those peppers were just placed so carefully in the display, I just could not resist taking some to my kitchen and developing a new delicious recipe. These peppers are stuffed with a very flavorful Italian mix of herbs and seasons, baked with a creamy Italian sauce and topped with a special mix of cheese. I planned on freezing the peppers that were left, however there were none left to freeze.

Whats For Dinner Next Week,2-9-20

We woke up to snow, it is so pretty, not much snow but certainly enough to make me want some real cozy food. Keeping the weather in mind when planning a meal plan is very important, when there is snow on the ground I won't be planning a cook out on the patio. I get excited about making those meal's that let you know whats cooking when you walk in the front door and your family says, oh that smells so good, whats for dinner?

I can't wait to see and enjoy what you are sharing for the party today and thanks so much for sharing with us!

Oven Grilled Rosemary Rib Eye Steak

We really enjoy a great steak sometimes and a Rib Eye Steak seems to be our favorite. It is not always favorable conditions to cook the steaks on the grill, so this is how we make these delicious steaks in the oven. Today we have paired the oven grilled Rib Eye Steaks with rosemary flavors. The Rosemary Butter just finishes these delicious steaks.

Cherry Cheese Tartlet Dessert

Our Cherry Cheese Tartlet Dessert is a very easy dessert recipe to make and it is just delicious. It is the perfect little dessert to complete a special meal, a ladies luncheon, or tea. When I set the tarlets in the refrigerator and my husband spots them, I know that there will be a least 2 missing, so I always make just a litte more. This is one of those great go to recipes that I use over and over.

Whats For Dinner Next Week,2-2-20

The cottage is all a buzz getting ready for the big super bowl game this weekend. Making meal plans with a party in the week is a lot of fun and after all the food is a really big part of the party. I have a couple of friends coming over today to help out with the party plan, and I can't wait to share what we come up with. This is a great time of the year to seek out some comfort food and that is sure what we will be doing.
