Full Plate Thursday 5-15-14

Full Plate Thursday Where The Greatest Cooks On The Planet Gather

Hope all of you had a great Mothers Day weekend and enjoyed friends and family. We are so excited here at the cottage, it has been raining and our ground and plants are getting a nice drink of water. Our lake is still 3 feet down, but we are encouraged with the rain. What do you like to eat on a nice rainy spring day, I like to put something in the Slow Cooker and enjoy the comfort of having a nice meal at the end of the day. I am sharing my Slow Cooker Baby Back Ribs, great for a rainy day or a busy day. I am so happy to see all of you today and looking forward to your fantastic food, lets get it on the table!

Background Story On Full Plate Thursday
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".

  15. Good Morning Miz Helen, I am so pleased to hear that you are having the rain you so desperately need.... here in England, we have had more than our fair share of rain this year.
I am very excited to try your slow cooker baby ribs recipe as I really do not use my slow cooker as much as I should.
    Have a lovely weekend.
    Best Wishes

  26. Thanks for hosting! While this post isn't a recipe, it is about food. More precisely, it is "Food Rules from a Fourth Grader," written almost completely by my son after he read the young reader's edition of the Omnivore's Dilemma. I am really very proud of him! :)

I don't know what to do but I miss you very much. I have gotten so many recipes from you but I want more. I don't know what to do, do you?
