Glazed Donut Muffins

I had to cook these Glazed Donut Muffins when everyone was out of the house to ensure that I would have enough to photograph for my post. That is how fast they go here at the cottage, I can barley get them on the plate and they are gone. This is a great muffin that is a donut but baked in the oven and glazed with a yummy glaze, of course they will all be gone quick! (I am having one before they get back home).

Whats For Dinner Next Week 2-28-16

Only 2 days left in February and I am so ready for March! I took a walk through the garden this morning and the spring plants are really growing although it is very crisp outdoors and we may even have a little snow this coming week. I am diffidently a seasonal cook, I am already starting to think of great spring food to have on our menus. I was helping a young mother the other day to learn how to begin to make meal plans, she was so excited when we completed our class. Hope you are enjoying planning your meals as much as I do!

Nana's Chicken Salad Sandwich

Every once in a while I just want a chicken salad sandwich. When I roast or poach chicken one of the recipes I like to make is chicken salad. One of my granddaughters always ask for my chicken salad sandwich and I am so excited to make it for her, that means I get to have one as well. Of course a great Chicken Salad can be served many different ways , but today its our very special Chicken Salad Sandwiches.

Crock Pot Tex Mex Casserole

We love Tex Mex here at the cottage and often times when someone is coming over for dinner they will ask for a Tex Mex dish. I have been making this recipe for years and wanted to make it for a special dinner for a friend, but I didn't want to be in the kitchen right up to dinner. The solution was a recipe for my new Crock Pot Casserole Cooker. I may never go back to the old recipe, everyone just loved this and I had lots of time to visit with friends.

Whats For Dinner Next Week 2-21-16

It has been a beautiful week here at the cottage and we have sure enjoyed being out doors in the garden.  You might enjoy seeing what we have been doing in our latest garden post on the side bar.  Last week I taught a class for some young women who will soon be getting married and wanted to learn some more about meal planning becoming a part of their time management, they were all so excited to see how much time and money could be saved by setting aside a certain time every week to plan the meals.

I am so excited that we have come to this time of the year when we begin to prepare the trees and bushes for a new season.A time to plant new seeds and plants in the gardens and just enjoy being out doors on a crisp winters day. We always have a little break in the weather in the middle of January and February and all of a sudden we have a sun shiny day to catch up with our gardening. As you will see we have been very busy here at the cottage.

Crock Pot Italian Chicken

When I have a busy day or just want a special recipe, I go to the slow cooking of a crock pot or a slow cooker. It is great to come home at the end of a busy day, walk in the front door and have that smell of a fantastic dish waiting for you. I also love taking these special dishes to cover dish luncheon's or dinner, the folks always see me coming with my little red crock pot. The recipe that we are sharing today is full of bold Italian flavor and will keep them coming back for seconds every time. We love this recipe and sure hope you enjoy it!

Ranch House Breakfast Bake

My husband grew up on a ranch and eating a big breakfast before the day begins on the ranch. I really enjoy making this Ranch House Breakfast Bake for him before he begins his day of work in the cottage gardens. This Breakfast Bake is light, fluffy and full of flavors that you would expect to find on the ranch. I recently made this recipe for him and his friends for a weekend breakfast right before they were heading out for a hard days work on the golf course, oops, did I say work?

10 Husband Tested Desserts

I love making a special dessert for my Husband or just making an old favorite just for him. I am very blessed because my Guy is not a picky eater and will generally love whatever I set in front of him, but he sure does have his favorites. Of course on special occasions I love to pamper him and then the most fun is just to make it his special day, just because he is such a special guy! I am excited to share with you 10 of his all time favorites.

Whats For Dinner Next Week 2-7-16

What a fun week ahead, how many times do we have 3 big events in one week. This week we have Super Bowl Sunday, Chinese New Year and Mardi Gras all in one week, wow! It is fun to make a food plan for such a busy week and enjoy the different ethic foods that make life interesting. It has been a tradition in our family that we try and have a special meal that represents that holiday. Our kids always looked forward to the surprises and they still do. We have some favorite recipes that are always a family request for certain holidays and be sure several have already made their request. I really can't wait to get started on this week and am very excited that you are here to help me.

Full Plate Thursday 2-4-16 # 261

Where The Greatest Cooks On The Planet Gather It's official now, Full Plate Thursday has just passed the Five Year mark. Wow, it is hard to believe that we have posted this party 260 times and now we are posting number 261. When I started Full Plate Thursday one of my goals was to show up every week at the same time and with Gods help and your encouragement I have been able to do that. Another goal was to leave a comment with each of you who would come to the party, and although the blogging community has moved away from that protocol, I still try to visit as many of you as I can, I love visiting all of your wonderful blogs. I want to thank each of you for your faithful participation, support, friendship and blog love through these years. YOU are Full Plate Thursday and without YOUR fabulous food we would not have the wonderful party that we have today. From the bottom of my heart Thank YOU So Much, ya'll are so special to me, love and hugs to all!

Roasted Butternut Gratin with Turnips and Greens

From Garden To Table We are coming to the end of our winter garden and the cold bins that we keep our potatoes, onions, and squash are getting down very low. This is about the time I really try to use those things up because the spring garden vegetables will be coming on very soon. Today I am using a Butternut Squash from the cold bin and I gathered some Turnips Greens and Collards to make this wonderful Roasted Butternut and Greens into a lovely Gratin. Winter Greens and Roasted Vegetables combined in a well seasoned gratin, a delicious main or side dish.   We love this recipe and sure hope that you enjoy it!

Super Bowl Party Round Up

The Super Bowl is just around the corner so we have put together some great suggestions for our Super Bowl Party.  Our team did not make it this year, but we will all have so much fun watching some other team win this year. One of the fun things about a Super Bowl Party is the food and our party will have lots of wonderful food. These are just a few dishes that we may have at our party and some great ideas for your party. Let's have fun and may the best team win!
