What a beautiful week we are having here at the cottage, we have been able to be in the gardens and we are sure enjoying some of the spring fruits and vegetables. I can't wait to see what you are bringing to share today so lets get this party started.

Berries and More Salad

When the Strawberries start blooming and the Blackberries start setting on new berries, I know that the Blueberries are coming soon. We love going to the berry patch and gathering fresh berries for a wonderful salad. There is nothing like the flavor of a great fresh berry salad with a wonderful finishing sauce. This is one of our favorite combinations and I am very excited to share this recipe with you today, hope you love it as much as we do.

Asparagus Brunch Casserole

We love having brunch on a Saturday morning on a weekend when we can just relax and enjoy our home and being together. It is really great when the asparagus is coming up and being picked every day. That's when I really enjoy using the fresh asparagus in my brunch casserole. This is a very versatile recipe and the ingredients can be changed to fit the season. This is a great dish for a cover dish pot luck brunch and I have served it many times for a ladies brunch.

This is a time for wonderful food and quiet renewal.  I know that all of you will be bringing some wonderful recipes today to share with us.  I can't wait to see what you have brought in your Easter Basket's to share today!

Southern Deviled Eggs with Flair

Have you ever noticed that the platter of deviled eggs at a pot luck dinner is the first to go? We wouldn't think of having a picnic without deviled eggs and no Easter table is complete without deviled eggs. My Grandmother made the most delicious deviled eggs, of course they were fresh right out of the hen house. She had a standard recipe that has been passed through the years all the way down to me. Now my Grandmother would not have thought of putting so many different garnishes on the deviled eggs, but our generation does and we love all those different garnishes.

Fluffy Mac and Fruit Salad

We just love a great Fluff salad and like so many of you we have have our favorites. One of our family favorites that always shows up on a holiday table, cover dish suppers and other events is our Fluffy Mac and Fruit Salad. This is a simple salad that is so easy to put together and has a great combination of flavor. The ingredients for this salad are just a little different and I sure hope you enjoy it.

We want to take a moment today and send our thoughts and prayers to all the folks in the flooded area's of the south.  Our heart really goes out to all of you!

7 Glazes For Country Ham

There is nothing like a great country ham for a special occasion or just a family meal. The flavor of the ham can really take on a whole new meaning with the different glazes that we use. Some Glazes are applied before the baking and some are applied after the ham is baked and they are all delicious additions to the baked ham. These are just a few glazes that our family just love. Whats better than a great glaze to complete a platter of beautiful ham.

Old Fashioned Pineapple Cake

One of my husbands favorite cakes is pineapple. I have several Pineapple Cake recipes that I will make for him from time to time, but this is one of his favorites. I understand why it would be, this cake is so moist it is almost a pie or a pudding, plus the flavor is just fantastic! This recipe is so easy that it can be ready for dessert in no time. Hope your family enjoy's this recipe as much as we do!

Irish Potato Mounds

My Irish Grandmother had so many recipes for potatoes and they were all delicious, but the Irish Potato Mounds were really one of my favorite. This is a very easy recipe and can be made with either fresh mashed potatoes or left over mashed potatoes. Another plus for this recipe is that the mounds are baked and not fried, making the recipe a little healthier. I really love these little mounds of goodness and sure hope you enjoy them!

Reuben Casserole

I love a Reuben Sandwich and this casserole is like one big Reuben Sandwich, it goes together real fast and is a great casserole for a family dinner. It has all the wonderful flavors of a great Reuben. I have shared this casserole at covered dish dinners and has been a great go to for my husbands card buddies, this is one of their favorites. I am excited to share it with you today!

Whats For Dinner Next Week 3-6-16

Cabbage Caboodle Casserole

If we were visiting my Irish Grandmothers kitchen today and asked her what are you making for dinner; she might say a Caboodle. What is a Caboodle you might ask, for my Grandmother it was usually a dish of whatever she had on hand with Cabbage as the star. Like my Grandmother we grow our own cabbage and this is a great time of the year to harvest the winter cabbage. If you are not growing your own cabbage the markets are full of great buys on cabbage. Part of this recipe belongs to my Grandmother and the rest is my own that becomes the Caboodle; whatever we have on hand today. Lets take a look at my Caboodle.
