Skillet Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Brussels Sprouts are a very versatile vegetable and one that we really enjoy. Skillet Roasted Brussels Sprouts don't take any time to prepare and it is a delicious side dish. The brussels sprouts are tender on the inside and crispy on the outside with a great flavor. This garden to table recipe is a side dish of vegetables that will complement any meal.

How To Make
Skillet Roasted Brussels Sprouts
Render the grease and brown the bacon in a black iron skillet.
Remove the crisp bacon from the skillet to a
paper towel covered dish, then set aside.
Add the prepared brussels sprouts to the bacon grease in the skillet. Add the minced garlic and toss the sprouts until the are roasted.
Add the chicken broth and cover the skillet. Cook the brussels sprouts until tender about 5 to 8 minutes. Remove the lid and simmer until the liquid has been reduced.
Remove the skillet from the heat.
Add the butter, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper.
After the butter is melted toss the brussels sprouts and add the crisp bacon, then toss before serving.

Skillet Roasted Brussels Sprouts
A garden to table side dish that is delicious. Easy roasting in the iron skillet.
Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, slice into bite size pieces
- 1 pound fresh brussels sprouts, cleaned and cut in half
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1/2 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- In a heavy iron skillet, cook the bacon until the grease is rendered and the bacon is crisp. Remove the bacon from the skillet and place it on a paper towel covered dish. Set side until needed to complete the recipe.
- Place the brussels sprouts face down in the skillet with the bacon grease. Sauté in the bacon grease for about 5 to 8 minutes, then add the garlic. Continue to cook for about 1 minute.
- Pour the chicken broth in the skillet and cover with a lid. Cook the brussels sprouts for about 5 minutes. Remove the lid and simmer about 5 more minutes to evaporate some of the liquid and until the sprouts are tender. Remove the skillet from the heat.
- Add the butter, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Toss together until the butter is melted. Last toss in the crisp bacon until it is incorporated with the sprouts.
This delicious Skillet Roasted Brussels Sprouts are ready to serve.
The flavor of these brussels sprouts and this side dish are fantastic!
