Our Creamy Cheese Chicken Casserole is a big hit at family dinners or special gatherings. The chicken is layered with a creamy cheese sauce, green peas and a crispy cracker topping. This casserole will melt in your mouth and have folks coming back for seconds.

How To Make Creamy Cheese Chicken Casserole
To start the filling in a large mixing bowl, we will
add 3 cups of shredded cooked chicken.
Add the sauce and chesses to the chicken in the mixing bowl.
If using frozen peas, run cold water over them until they thaw.
Add fresh or thawed frozen green peas to
the filling mix and mix well. Add 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon pepper, and 1 teaspoon dried thyme, mix well.
Add melted butter to the crushed crackers and mix well.Spoon the chicken filling into a 9 X 13 baking dish,
then top with the buttered crackers.
fresh thyme, serve warm.

Creamy Cheese Chicken Casserole
This recipe is layered with cooked chicken a creamy cheese sauce, green peas and a crispy cracker topping. A big hit with our family!
Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked chicken, chredded
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup mayonnaise or Miracle Whip
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 21/2 cups green peas, fresh or thawed frozen
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1 cup sharp cheddar, shredded
- 1 large sleeve (Ritz) crackers, crushed
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl place the shredded cooked chicken.
- In a mixing pitcher mix the chicken soup, sour cream, mayonnaise or Miracle Whip, the salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix well then add this sauce mix to the chicken. Add the fresh or thawed frozen peas to the chicken filling and mix well.
- Add the shredded cheese mix to the chicken filling and mix well.
- In a medium bowl, add the crushed crackers and then add the melted butter and mix well.
- Spoon the chicken filling into a 9 X 13 baking dish, then top with the crushed buttered crackers. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or golden brown. Garnish with fresh thyme of parsley.
