Our Peanut Butter Firecracker Treats are a special little treat to serve at any celebration, especially if you are having some fireworks. This is a very simple recipe that the kids can help with and have a lot of fun. Peanut Butter and chocolate paired with some crispy noodles, topped with colorful sprinkles, this is a very special treat! These are delicious little treats and one is never enough!

We will start this recipe with peanut butter and vanilla chocolate chips mixed together in a micro wave safe bowl.

Heating and stirring the chocolate chips at 30 second intervals until melted, it will take about 2 minutes.

Pour in the Chow Mein Noodles and mix until completely covered.

Take little clumps of the chocolate covered noodles and place them on the sheet pan that has been covered with wax paper. Sprinkle with different kinds of  red, white and blue sprinkles.

Peanut Butter Firecracker Treats

Very special treats to enjoy for celebrations. Kids love helping with this recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1 ( 12 ounce) package peanut butter chips
  • 1 ( 12 ounce) package white vanilla chips
  • 1 ( 12 ounce) package chow mein noodles
  • Variety of red, white & blue sprinkles for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the peanut butter & vanilla chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl
  2. Place in microwave and cook for 30 second intervals, stirring then repeating until the chocolate chips are completely melted and smooth.
  3. Stir in the chow mein noodles, stirring to make sure that all the noodles are completely covered with chocolate.
  4. Place a small scoop of the mixture onto a sheet pan that has been covered with wax paper.
  5. Garnish with different red, white & blue sprinkles.
  6. Refrigerate for 1 hour to let the chocolate set up.
  7. Store in a cool place before and after serving.

  2. Miz Helen, these fun Peanut Butter Firecracker Treats remind me of treats my late Mom and I used to make at Christmas called Chinese Chews. The recipe used peanut butter instead of the peanut butter and white chocolate chips but I think the flavours would have been very similar. They were a real favourite of mine. We never added sprinkles though - that is such a great idea, and really adaptable for any occasion.

    I haven't been able to make my recipe for years as I just can't seem to source Chow Mein noodles here in the UK. I keep trying! I do love the sound of this recipe too and the treats are so cute!
