Whats For Dinner Next Week: Christmas EveTamales

Our family just loves Christmas it really is one of my favorite holiday's. No matter where we have been in life, we have always tried to make Christmas special for our family. We have many traditions that have evolved over the years. After dinner on Christmas Eve we all gather round the tree and someone reads the Christmas Story from the Bible. Then we sing some Christmas Carols and each person gets to open one gift from under the tree. Sometimes the younger children will produce a Christmas play with written programs, of course directed by the older ones who are now passing the tradition along. One of the traditions we  have is our food. On Christmas Eve we always have Mexican Food, and this week I will feature  Tamales on Christmas Eve. For the first time I will not have the recipe on this post because it is to long. I have my Tamales recipe in addition to the sauce and you will be able to link back to them.

On Christmas we gather with Family and Friends to celebrate the birth of Jesus, who was sent here by His Father to show us the way and guide us with His love and light. It is my fondest desire that you and your family be blessed with joy on this Christmas. I am so grateful that each and everyone of you have been a part of my life this year.
Merry Christmas!
Peace and Joy

  10. My husband has fond memories of his mother and aunts gathering in the kitchen making large batches of tamales.
When we lived in San Diego we used to purchase them from the Tamale Lady. The Pork tamales were our family favorite.
