Day Trip Update On Chef York

I recently had an opportunity to visit with my friend Chef York, The Official Chef of Texas. We took you with us on a   Day Trip to visit him this past fall and had some of his wonderful Italian Cream Cake...
how could we forget
Italian Cream Cake Edom Bakery and Grill
Chef Jackson York
Chef York was telling me all about his upcoming Cooking Program. Now who wouldn't want to take some cooking classes with The Official Chef of Texas. I am passing this great opportunity along to all of you. I realize that right now most of you would have to get to Edom, Texas by dog sled or a cross country snow mobile, but I do still hold hope that spring will come.
The Edom Bakery Cooking Program is a seven week class that explores the fundamentals of gourmet cooking. This unique class is designed for both the novice and the experienced cook. With individual participation in a professional kitchen, students will establish a working knowledge and foundation to build upon at home. Included in the Programs curriculum is the art of preparing delicious soups, sauces, entrees, elaborate garnishes and pastry work. Upon completion of the Program each graduate will be honored for their achievement with a diploma and special gift, at a Graduation Dinner Party, planned and prepared by the students. This wonderful opportunity begins on February 15, 2011. For a fee schedule and more class information please call 903-852-5552.
I wish that each and every one of us could meet  at The Edom Bakery and Grill for this Program, we would have so much fun!

I am so glad that you stopped by today, please take care of yourself in this bad weather, stay warm and I hope to see you soon!
Peace and Joy

  1. Miz Helen-Wow, that Italian Cream Cake is heavenly rich, and beautiful! What a nice program to join...too bad I'm so far away.

BTW-I will be including your fabulous cheesecake to link to for my Sunday post, since we share the same Mark Bittman book...so I'm just letting you know to look for it tomorrow. Loving your blog, and I'm also putting it on my blog list, to click on to regularly!

  7. Oh my, would that I could go! I know this would be a fabulous experience. The cake looks absolutely divine! My mother used to make it for me on my birthday and I miss that so much. She was an incredible cook and I'm glad that I have so many of her recipes, but...this one I cannot find. :-(

Have a lovely Sunday! Honestly, I'll be so happy when all this Super Bowl hoopla is over. It's been non-stop for us here in the DFW area.
