The Garden Gate: The Butterfly Tree

The most beautiful Tree in our Garden this time of the year is our Chaste Tree or better known as a butterfly tree. When it blooms in early June it is covered with beautiful lilac blooms. The most common form of the Chaste Tree Vitex Agnus-Castus formed multitrunked tree about 15 to 20 feet tall and wide. Large branched spikes of blue to purple flowers crown the branches in summer.

  5. I just LOVE these trees! I want one for my yard, but I read that the bees love it and my son would freak out every time he mowed. Ha ha!
