Summer Garden Harvest With Recipes

Summer Garden Harvest Time at Miz Helen's Country Cottage
It has truly been an outstanding summer garden harvest this year. We had early and late rain's along with cooler temperatures that we had never had in recorded weather history for our area so we really didn't know what to expect in the final outcome of the harvest. We have had what the farmers would call a bumper crop. In order to keep up with the harvest we have kept the canner's going full steam ahead. I am excited to share with you the summer garden harvest time.

I have really enjoyed having my husband Leonard in the garden more since he retired earlier this year. Here he is in the middle of the green bean rows picking beans. When we have enough to fill the jars then we can them.

  1. Congrats on a bountiful gardening year! I love your soup starter, that's a great idea. And the zinnias are beautiful, always a favorite. This has been a good year for tomatoes and peppers here in Philly:@)
