The Turnip Green Journey

My Mothers Divinity

My Mother was a great cook and she came from a long history of great southern cooks. She like any good cook had her favorite things that she liked  to make. She loved sweets and she loved making candy at Christmas and of course we all loved eating it. One of her favorites that we all looked forward to was her Divinity. In honor of my Mother at this Christmas Time I am pleased to present her Divinity.

Cream Puffs

The cream puffs are one of Leonard's favorite desserts and today I am making them to surprise him.  We will be having some friends over later in the day so he gets the first bites of part of the desserts we will be serving tonight.  I have been making these cream puffs for years and it is a great recipe that never fails, plus you can use any filling you want to make them just a little different.  I know that my guy will love these and sure hope you will.

Whats For Dinner Next Week: Christmas EveTamales

Our family just loves Christmas it really is one of my favorite holiday's. No matter where we have been in life, we have always tried to make Christmas special for our family. We have many traditions that have evolved over the years. After dinner on Christmas Eve we all gather round the tree and someone reads the Christmas Story from the Bible. Then we sing some Christmas Carols and each person gets to open one gift from under the tree. Sometimes the younger children will produce a Christmas play with written programs, of course directed by the older ones who are now passing the tradition along. One of the traditions we  have is our food. On Christmas Eve we always have Mexican Food, and this week I will feature  Tamales on Christmas Eve. For the first time I will not have the recipe on this post because it is to long. I have my Tamales recipe in addition to the sauce and you will be able to link back to them.
