Day Trips

For the last fifteen years my friend Vicki and I have been traveling the roads around the lake and the rural country side with an occasional trip into the City. Recently we traveled to a near by City for a Scrap Book Luncheon and afternoon of Scrap Booking.

We met a group of friends at The Potpourri House a lovely restaurant and gift shop in Tyler, Texas. They have a very nice menu selection in addition to a lovely buffet. I ordered the Chicken Crepes which was served with fruit and a Zucchini muffin...Yummy! If you are ever in Tyler you might try The Potpourri House. I give it my Texas Star Award!

Then we were off to do our work/play time. I have been blessed to know this group of ladies who want to have fun and give back or pay forward to others. Our afternoon of Scrap Booking was just such a time. It is so much joy to be able to give to others for their contributions in making life better for other women. There is so much creative energy that flows at the Scrap Booking Table. It goes something like this:Oh look at this, Awwhhh, Oh I just love that, Oh let me see that,do you mind if I use that, Oh I remember that, could you hand me that glue, just look at her page that is just precious, how did you do that, who has my blue scissors...and then the afternoon has slipped away and its time to say good-bye...hugs to everyone and looking forward to our next work day. On the way home we have that joy in our heart that is the gift of spending time with good friends and giving back to others.

  3. Looks like a great way to spend a day -- scrapbooking is something that I started to do when my daughter was 4 and I was pregnant with my son. They are 16 and 12 today and I have ALOT of catching up to do! Where do you begin? Is it better to start with the present and go back to the baby years later?

That is a very good question. If you set a goal to finish one year a month it really would not take long to catch up. The main thing is just to start, you will never finish unless you begin.
Be sure and let us know when you start.
