We have been having some Mardi Gras flavor here at the cottage and have enjoyed a few parties with friends. Background Story On Full Plate Thursday
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".

  32. Hi Miz Helen. I hope you aren't too cold in Texas. I've been on a roasting kick lately and this week contributed Roasted Vegetable Tacos. Finn got a little carried away at the photo shoot. I guess that means they're irresistable. Hugs to little Max! Thanks for hosting again.

  38. Hi Miz Helen. As usual, you've got the best place for cooking inspiration. I love to see so many recipes posted. I shared roasted portabello burgers. Portobellos are good roasted or grilled, and putting them on the menu is also a good excuse to make sweet potato fries. Have a great weekend!
