Some of the schools here started the end of last week and the rest will start this coming week. Time to slow down going through those school zones and watch for the little ones in the cross walks. It's time to think about after school treats and kid friendly family suppers. We have been very busy here at the cottage, we are getting ready for opening weekend of the official season here at the lake. We will be having a Quiet Time on Memorial Day to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. Then we will be celebrating the opening of the season for the lake. I love planning the food for this weekend, lots of food that we don't have that often but it is oh so good! What a week we have had here in Texas, the new Ice Capital and home of Cobble Stone Ice Streets. I am just so grateful that we did not have to be traveling and could be at home all cozy in our little cottage. It has been a great time to bake and fill the house with the smell of Christmas and indulge in a few extra treats.
