Full Plate Thursday,442 at Miz Helen's Country Cottage

Come on back to the screen porch, we have ice cold lemonade, some herb ice water and some southern iced sweet tea, just help yourself and find a cool spot under the fans. It is hot here so we are looking for some ways and foods to help us stay cool. We had a great party last week and have fantastic features from that party. I sure hope you will take the time to visit these very talented bloggers and tell them hello. I can't wait to see what you are bringing to the party today, I always look forward to your visits and thanks so much for being a part of this special community!

Background Story For Full Plate Thursday
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the week. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".

  3. Hello Miz Helen! That glass of lemonade sure does sound good - we are having a heatwave here in the UK. This week I'm sharing a Gluten Free treat I developed alongside my friend, the lovely Sandi of Fearless Dining. She took all the photographs in the post as well. I hope you are having a wonderful week. Thank you so much for hosting!

  4. It certainly has been a hot summer; some days too hot to be outside. I remember when I was a child we always brought a pitcher of lemonade to out on the front porch to share with neighbors. Your porch sounds like you've got some wonderful refreshing drinks to share. Thank you for hosting these great parties. I look forward to them each week.
