Full Plate Thursday,494 at Miz Helen's Country Cottage
Hello, we are so happy to see you here at Full Plate Thursday!
This is a very special party today, it's my birthday, and we are celebrating

It is very hot outside so we are looking for a cool spot on the screen porch and under the trees. Just to sit in the cool and sip some ice cold lemonade or sweet tea. Just come on back to the garden area and find a cool spot. We have some great features from last weeks party that I am happy to share with you today and hope you will really enjoy! I am excited to see what you will be sharing with us at todays party, I always look forward to your visits.
My husband Leonard and I want to thank you for your kind thoughts and prayers as he was recovering from the Covid 19 Virus. It has now been 14 days since we began the journey and he is much better. It will be awhile before he will be able to return to work, because he is still very weak, although he is much better than he was. We are so grateful that he never had to go to the hospital and that I still do no have any symptoms and feel great! It's my birthday today, what better present could I have!

Full Plate Thursday Background Story
When we were young and just starting out in life sometimes we did not have a lot of money. Most of our friends were having to stretch the dollars at the end of the month just like us. My girlfriends and I decided that we would pool our food for some of the evening meals right before payday... the last week of the month. I have some of the fondest memories from those days. We would all bring our food together and we had some great food and great fellowship. We would get the food on the table and everything ready, someone would bless the food and then the hostess would say "come fill your plate".
